AMY BRIERS ARCHITECTS

BEFORE

AFTER
The brief for this Bungalow transformation project was to provide a large family space connecting the Kitchen/Dining space with the large rear garden, to add 2 additional bedrooms, a Bathroom and Ensuite upstairs and to give the property a fresh contemporary face-lift. To do this we moved the stair, extended at the front and rear of the property & added dormer windows creating framed floor to ceiling glazing to both floors. We painted the existing brickwork black and added vertical timber slats to break up the elevations and to soften the colour palette.

BEFORE

AFTER
This existing Bungalow had no clear Entrance and needed a face lift. We added a new Master Bedroom with Kitchenette, Ensuite, Living area & Balcony over the existing Garage, which we turned into a home gym also. The brief included the addition of a car port, which we turned into a beautiful canopy enveloping the whole front of the property, providing a beautiful, sheltered main Entrance. The canopy broke the elevation up, allowing us to clad the lower walls and soffit in a natural Larch & the upper walls and fascias above in a contrasting black treated Larch. The existing property benefitted from a elevated position, providing amazing views of Cheshire from the private garden & rear of the property. See the before and after images below for the transformation at the rear too:

The same proposed material palette was added to the new elements of the rear of the property too. Frameless glazed balustrading was used for the first floor Balcony to maximise the stunning views from the Master Bedroom suite, the first-floor extension taking the new vaulted ceiling & glazed gable all the way up to the pitched roof. The other single-storey rear extension increased the area of the existing Lounge, opening it up onto a sheltered decked patio area where my client can enjoy the stunning view while enjoying a morning coffee or a cocktail admiring sunset.

BEFORE

AFTER
The brief for this Bungalow extension project was to provide a large family space connecting the Kitchen/Dining and Lounge with the rear garden, add an Ensuite to the Ground Floor Master Bedroom & to add 2 additional bedrooms upstairs, increasing the main Bathroom space also and getting as much lighting into each room as possible. To do this we demolished the existing detached Garage and extended the property to the side and front, and added Dormer windows to provide light and views out from all rooms now created upstairs.
